What is permanent makeup? Permanent
makeup or cosmetic tattooing is the art of applying colored pigments
into the dermal layer of the skin to enhance your facial features
such as eyes, brows and lips.
How long
does it take? The time will vary depending on the
procedure you will be having done. It will take approximately 1 ½ to
2 ½ hours for new procedures and 1 hour for touch
ups.
How long does it
last? All tattoos will fade over time. The colors
usually chosen for the face tend to be softer and more natural than
the vibrant colors found in body art. Usually the darker or brighter
colors will take longer to fade. Natural skin exfoliation and sun
exposure will also contribute to fading. It is recommended that
refreshing the procedure every 1-5 years will help maintain the
color.
Does it
hurt? Topical anesthetics are applied generously
throughout the procedures to control the pain although each person
will have a different level of pain tolerance. We will do everything
we can to make your experience as comfortable as
possible.
What should I expect after
the procedure? You may have some slight swelling
immediately after the procedures. The color will appear darker and
more defined for the first few days. By the 3rd or 4th day you will
notice the dark surface start to lift to reveal softer colors
implanted underneath your skin.
Is it
safe? All supplies used are disposed of after each
client. Single use needles have been autoclaved and are placed in
Sharps container immediately after the procedure. Strict OSHA
sanitation standards are always maintained to ensure your
safety.
Will I need a touch
up? Some people will need a touch up and some will
not. During the healing process as the dry skin starts to form on
the surface some areas may pull more color than others. More color
may be applied after the healing process is complete, usually
between 4-6 weeks. It will be up to you if you feel you need another
application.
